Tip # 1

A blade sharpening is an inexpensive way to prolong the life of your expensive lawn mowers. A dull blade requires more strain on your mower to cut.

Tip # 2

A dull mower blade can also cause a poor cut which will cause the lawn to recover slower requiring  more nutrients and water to repair.

Tip # 3

When turning a mower on its side either for cleaning, maintenance, or inspecting the blade, it's important to try to direct the exhaust system upward. Doing this will help prevent oil from running up into the carburetor, where it will burn and smoke. Eventually it will make its way to the air filter and getting it filthy, resulting in decreased engine performance.
